Built by collectors, for collectors

The story behind Premier Breaks.

Premier Breaks was founded by Kyle and Amie with one clear ambition: to create the kind of trading card store they would genuinely want to buy from themselves. That means a store shaped by real collecting experience, honest information and respect for every item that passes through our hands.

Where it started

A collector’s point of view, built into the business.

For Kyle and Amie, Premier Breaks did not begin as an abstract retail idea. It began with the same questions collectors ask whenever they spend their own money: Is this product genuine? Has the condition been described properly? Will it be packed with care? Is the price clear? If something goes wrong, will there be a real person who understands why the item matters?

Those questions shaped the business from the start. Trading cards can be a hobby, a competitive game, a connection to a favourite story, an investment, or all of those things at once. A sealed box may be opened with friends, kept for years, or chosen as a gift. A raw single may complete a long-worked-on set. A graded card may mark a personal collecting milestone. The financial value varies, but the care expected by the collector should not.

With more than 20 years of experience behind the business and a genuine passion for the TCG community, Premier Breaks was created to bring that collector’s perspective into every part of the store. The aim is not to make collecting feel complicated or exclusive. It is to make it easier to find the right products, understand what you are buying, protect what you own and move items on when your collection changes direction.

Being founded by two people who care about the experience on both sides of an order also keeps the business grounded. Growth matters, but trust matters more. Every listing, parcel, valuation and conversation contributes to the reputation of the store. That is why Premier Breaks continues to focus on the practical details that collectors notice: useful descriptions, careful handling, straightforward choices and service that respects the person behind the collection.

Building Premier Breaks

The milestones that shaped the store.

Premier Breaks has developed by solving the real needs that appear throughout a collector’s journey. Each milestone reflects a practical step towards a more complete, dependable trading card service.

  1. MILESTONE 01

    Starting with the collector experience

Before the range, the website or the services came the standard the business should meet. Kyle and Amie wanted clear listings, genuine products, realistic communication and careful fulfilment—the same essentials they looked for as customers. That collector-first test remains useful: if a decision would make the experience confusing, uncertain or unnecessarily difficult for a collector, it needs improving.

  2. MILESTONE 02

    Creating a trusted online home

The next step was bringing the store together online so collectors could explore products by game, format and collecting goal. From an Andover base, Premier Breaks could serve customers well beyond Hampshire while still retaining the accountability of a focused, independent business. The website became more than a catalogue; it became the main place to buy, learn, contact the team and begin a valuation.

  3. MILESTONE 03

    Building a range with purpose

Collectors rarely stay in one lane. Some enjoy opening new releases, others hunt individual cards, and many move between playing, completing sets and collecting graded pieces. Premier Breaks therefore brought sealed products, singles, graded cards and accessories into one store, covering major games including Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dragon Ball.

  4. MILESTONE 04

    Raising the standard of presentation

Good service begins before checkout. Product identity, condition, grading details and availability need to be understandable, particularly when two cards from the same set can have very different values. Improving how products are described and presented became an ongoing milestone rather than a finished task. The objective is simple: give collectors enough useful information to make a confident decision.

  5. MILESTONE 05

    Making selling and trading easier

A healthy collection changes. Cards are upgraded, interests move to a different game, duplicates build up and sealed products sometimes need a new home. Premier Breaks developed a straightforward sell-or-trade route so collectors can submit singles, slabs, sealed items or larger mixed collections for review. Customers can consider cash, enhanced Premier Credit, or ask to compare the two routes.

  6. MILESTONE 06

Growing from Andover to the UK

Premier Breaks remains rooted in Andover while serving collectors throughout the United Kingdom. Tracked delivery supports everyday orders, and eligible higher-value collections may be considered for arranged collection from other UK locations. The milestone is not simply reaching more postcodes. It is extending the same careful, collector-led approach without losing the clarity and personal responsibility on which the business was built.

More than somewhere to buy

A straightforward route for the cards you are ready to move on.

Collecting is rarely static. A binder can move from one set to another. A player may step away from a game. A graded card can be replaced by a higher grade, and a sealed collection can become the budget for a completely different goal. Premier Breaks wants the selling side of collecting to feel as considered as the buying side.

The online valuation route gives collectors a clear place to start. You can explain whether you have raw singles, graded slabs, sealed products or a complete mixed collection, provide photographs and add the details you already know. The team can then review the submission and outline the next step. Initial valuations remain provisional until the items have been physically inspected for identity, authenticity, quantity and condition.

Where appropriate, collectors can consider an agreed cash payment or enhanced Premier Credit that can be used towards a future order. For the right collectables and higher-value collections, collection from locations elsewhere in the UK may also be arranged. Collection is not automatic, so customers should always wait for confirmation before travelling or sending anything.

This approach protects both sides of the transaction. It avoids promising a final figure before the collection can be checked, while giving the seller a practical route towards a decision. Most importantly, it recognises that a collection represents time, money and personal interest—not simply a box of stock.

What collectors can expect

The practical promises behind every order.

Collector-first service is only meaningful when it shows up in the details. These are the standards Premier Breaks works to make visible throughout the customer experience.

01

Clear product information

Collectors should understand what they are considering before they buy. Premier Breaks aims to make the product, set, format, condition and grading information easy to follow, while separating confirmed details from assumptions. Clear information supports better decisions and fewer surprises when an order arrives.

02

Careful packing and delivery

A trading card product should arrive in the condition in which it was sold. Orders are prepared with the nature of the item in mind, whether it is a sealed box, a raw single or a graded slab. Tracked delivery options add visibility while an order is travelling through the UK network.

03

Transparent trade choices

Sellers should know whether they are considering cash or enhanced Premier Credit, and why a provisional valuation may change after inspection. Premier Breaks separates the early review from the final physical assessment so collectors can understand the process before committing their items.

04

Knowledgeable human service

TCG products are specialised. Sets, variants, grading companies, languages, printings and condition details can materially affect an item. Premier Breaks brings genuine experience to those conversations and aims to communicate in practical language rather than making the collector navigate unnecessary jargon.

Premier Breaks in Andover, Hampshire
AndoverHampshire · United Kingdom

Local roots. National reach.

Based in Andover, serving collectors across the UK.

Andover is home to Premier Breaks and remains an important part of the business’s identity. It gives the store a clear base and keeps the operation connected to the collectors, communities and towns around Hampshire. At the same time, an online-first model allows the range and services to reach customers throughout the United Kingdom.

That balance matters. Premier Breaks can think locally—taking responsibility for how the business is run and how customers are treated—while providing the convenience collectors expect from a modern online store. Customers can browse at any time, compare products across games, submit a collection for review and arrange tracked delivery without needing to live close to Andover.

For eligible higher-value collections, the team may also discuss collection from other UK locations. The purpose is not to make broad promises before seeing the submission. It is to create a practical option when the value, size or nature of a collection makes ordinary postage less suitable. Every arrangement is considered individually and confirmed directly.

Wherever an order or enquiry begins, the principle is the same: communicate clearly, handle the products carefully and remember that there is a collector on the other side.

The next chapter

Growing the range without losing the reason it began.

Premier Breaks will continue to evolve as trading card games, release schedules and collector interests change. New products will arrive, established games will enter new eras and collectors will discover different ways to enjoy the hobby. The store’s job is to respond thoughtfully: expanding where there is genuine value, improving information and service, and making it easier for customers to move between buying, selling, trading and collecting.

The long-term ambition is not simply to list more products. It is to become a dependable part of the collecting journey. That means helping a new collector choose a sensible starting point, giving an experienced customer confidence in a higher-value purchase, helping a player locate the card they need and offering a respectful route when somebody decides it is time to sell a collection.

Kyle and Amie founded Premier Breaks around the store they wanted to use themselves. As the business grows from its Andover base, that remains the clearest measure of progress. The products may change and the community may expand, but the standard stays consistent: genuine enthusiasm, transparent information, careful handling and a service built by collectors, for collectors.
